Project Description



The assignment given to Trillini Engineering consisted in the development of a pre-FEED for a CO2 hydrogenation plant for methanol production, with the objective of arriving at a layout definition with modular solutions and cost estimation.
The scope of work was developed for the agnostic project. Several analyses were also performed on the cost estimation and constructability for three other plant sizes.

Trillini Engineering handled all pre-dimensioning and supply specifications for the rotating, static and package machines.
It pre-engineered the reactor based on experimental studies and managed the interfaces with the process disciplines. Trillini Engineering also developed the engineering for the electrical, instrumentation and control disciplines.
Based on the mechanical dimensioning, an optimised process flow layout was developed. Due to the peculiarities of the project conditions in terms of temperature and pressure, the cost estimate was constructed from requests for tenders from different suppliers.
